Analysis of Security and Privacy Aspects of E-Commerce in Indonesia


Issues of privacy and security in the world of E-Commerce is a global issue, so that developing countries such as Indonesia also felt the impact. Although the issue of privacy and security issues that are collectively faced by many countries, but each country has its own regulatory mechanisms and in the face of these two serious issues. What about Indonesia?
Indonesia has a base of 55 million Internet users, and 57 percent of that figure is an active user of online shopping. But unfortunately, until now there is no regulation that specifically and specific set of security and privacy issues in conducting online transactions. One of the factors that impede the making of law E-Commerce in Indonesia, more specialized business model is the presence of many E-Commerce in Indonesia. (Purwanti & Wahono, 2012) All these business models have different needs that must be facilitated by different regulations. Indonesia has four E-Commerce business models are most commonly used today. The four models are:
· Marketplace
Examples of E-Commerce sites that use business models are Multiply.com Marketplace, Tokopedia.com and Plasa.com
· Online Retail
Examples of online retail company is the famous Indonesia Gramedia.com and Bhinneka.com
· Daily Deals
Examples of E-Commerce sites that use business model is DealGoing.com Daily Deals
· Classified Ads
Examples of E-Commerce sites that use business model is Kaskus.us Classified Ads, Tokobagus.com and Berniaga.com
During this time in Indonesia, the regulations governing the transactions are done online in the E-Commerce is the Law of Information and Electronic Information or UU ITE. Several articles in the ITE Law which regulates the activities of E-Commerce in Indonesia, among others, is Article 9 which regulates product offerings through the electronic system, Article 10 of the Agency's role in the organization of Reliability Certification Electronic Transactions, as well as Article 17 to Article 22 which regulates the process of electronic transactions more generally. While the issues of privacy and security of electronic transactions in the system are briefly discussed in chapters 30 and 31.
To prevent the development of privacy and security issues in the world of E-Commerce, Indonesia desperately need regulations that specifically regulates the legality of electronic business contracts, setting up cyber crime and other regulations. More specialized regulation really needed to stem the ethical issues and regulations in the world of E-Commerce Indonesia, although little has been mentioned in many UU ITE. Regulations will be determined on E-Commerce also must be able to overcome the problems in the world of E-Commerce, both substantive and procedural. Poverty issues of privacy and security in E-Commerce in Indonesia alone should receive more attention. According to a survey by AC Nielsen in 2011, Indonesia ranks sixth in the world and fourth in Asia in terms of crime on the Internet, with a credit card abuse others in the internet business as a contributor. (Kompas Cyber ​​Media, 2002). More specialized regulations needed to provide legal certainty and laid the legal foundation for the people of Indonesia before making various transactions online. With the presence of security to the public in conducting online transactions, undoubtedly will increase the confidence of users and the implementation of E-Commerce systems in Indonesia can be organized and ethical.
