Keyboard

Keyboard input is the most important unit in a data processing computer. The keyboard can function include letters, numbers, special characters, and as a medium for the user (users) to perform other commands are required, such as saving files and opening files. The creation of a computer keyboard from typewriter models were created and patented by Christopher Latham in 1868, and in 1887 the company manufactured and marketed by Remington. The keyboard on the use of now this is kind of QWERTY, in 1973, was unveiled as a keyboard standard keyboard ISO (International Standards Organization). The number keys on the keyboard keys numbered 104. Keyboard now that we know have some kind of port, the serial port, ps2, usb and wireless.

Types of Keyboard:
1.) QWERTY
2.) Dvorak
3.) KLOCKENBERG
Keyboard is commonly used type QWERTY keyboard, which is similar to the shape keys on a typewriter. The QWERTY keyboard has four parts:
1. typewriter key
2. numeric key
3. function key
4. special function key.
1. Typewriter Key
This button is the main button input. This button is the same as the keys on a typewriter which consists of alphabet and other buttons as follows:
• Back Space
This button serves to erase one character to the left of the cursor
• Caps Lock
When this button is pressed, the indicator light will turn on caps lock, this suggests that the typed letters will be uppercase or Capital, when caps lock indicator lights off, then the letter will be small.
• Delete
This button serves to erase one character at the cursor position
• Esc
This button serves to cancel an order from a menu.
• End
This button serves to move the cursor to the end of the row / page / worksheet
• Enter
This button serves to move to a new line or to perform a process command.
• Home
To go to the beginning of the line or to the left corner of the screen
• Insert
This button serves to insert the character.
• Page Up
This button serves to .move the cursor one screen to the top
• Page Down
This button serves to Move the cursor one screen down
• Tab
This button serves to move the cursor one tab to the right.
2. Numeric Key
This button is located to the right of the keyboard. This key consists of numbers and arrow keys. If the indicator light is illuminated, num lock keys function as numbers. If the indicator light off the num lock button serves as an arrow key.
3. Function Key
This button is located on the top line, function keys F1 consists of s / d F12. The function of this key varies from computer programs used.
4. Special Function Key
This button consists of the Ctrl, Shift, and Alt. Keys will have functions when pressed in conjunction with other keys. For example, to block the shift key and pressing the arrow keys, to move the cursor pressing the ctrl and arrow keys.
