Static Communication Technology Infrastructure

On this occasion, I will post the Static Communication Technology Infrastructure which is wired devices. In the post, I will explain the development of the types of cables and a variety of benefits. Cable is the first time there is a copper cable which is copper-based cables, which are typically used in electronic objects in everyday life. The next type of cable is a coaxial cable, which is a kind of continuation of the copper wires. This cable consists of two types of UTP and STP. UTP is Unshielded Twisted Pair cable which is absent in the lead shield, while STP is Shielded Twisted Pair having protection from the lining of tin contained in the cable. The most recent cables from other cables, is a fiber optic cable, which is made of optical fiber base material. Excess cables from other cables are cables can transmit light, while the other cables can only transmit electromagnetic waves. Fiber optic cables can be used in a variety of things such as the telephone connection between the ocean and transmission media.
In this post, I got some questions from friends courses in communication technology development. The first question is on the coaxial cable, which is "what is the fundamental difference between STP and UTP in binding?" Then I replied that the difference is in terms of installation, where STP is more complicated to connect with a variety of equipment, whereas UTP otherwise.

The second question is "What is the use of copper in coaxial cable?" My answer to this question is, to copper as the conductor of the coaxial cable is an electromagnetic wave.

The third question is "whether the fiber optic cable can cause shock or not?" When the question was thrown at me, then I do not know exactly about the cable, and at the time I replied that this cable can be shocked if there are parts of the protective damaged.

The fourth question is "what is the advantages and disadvantages of the three cable?" Answer is more or less as follows.
Pros

  1. Copper wiring, overload of copper, among others, is low cost, easy installation, easy to get, and flexible, using the medium for all.
  2. Coaxial cable, coaxial cable is the excess of bandwidth capacity and greater transmission range, the transmission of information more faster, and cheaper than fiber optics.
  3. Fiber Optic Cable, the advantages of fiber optic cable is thin size and diameter of a human hair, can transmit light signals, bandwidth capacity and transmission speed is very large, reaching terabytes, easy to carry, and is not susceptible to power frequency interference

Cons

  1. Copper cable. Some disadvantages of copper cable is susceptible to electrical and radio frequency interference, can not transmit light signals, and a small bandwidth capacity.
  2. Coaxial Cables. Some disadvantages of coaxial cable installation is difficult, often resulting in problems if the connection at both ends is not well grounded, and more expensive when compared to copper cables.
  3. Fiber Optic Cables. Some disadvantages of fiber optic cable is expensive price includes special equipment for binding, and weak construction necessitating reinforcement coatings for protection

The fifth question is "what is the function of LED and LD in transmitting light?" Then I answer that, the LED serves as a transmitter to transmit light, which means that the LEDs that emit light. While LD serves as introducer, ie converting light into electromagnetic waves.

The sixth question is "what makes a longer optical fiber cable with another cable?". This is of course because of the manufacture of the fiber optic FO cables are expensive, and also the existence of technology that having by FO cables, these cables have made a prestige price.

The seventh question is "whether the cable of the three, has a different ability to transmit signals?" The answer is yes, because the technology is different having so the ability to transmit signals is also different. In this case, the FO cable has the ability to transmit the strongest signal. Question eight is "cable does tend widely used in domestic life?" The answer is copper cable, in which almost all the household appliances use this cable for connection to an electric current.

Then the last question is "how the standardization of fiber optic cable in Indonesia?" Standardization of fiber optic cable in Indonesia is high where the fiber optic cable is used in the  Palapa ring project.
The first deficiency seen from the absence of an explanation of the characteristics of the cable in general. The second is also, I am not able to bring in more audiovisual presentations. This can be seen in the absence of video - video that I show, to help explain the cables and various functions for the development of communication technology.
